The most important thing about choosing the right cruise at the right price is finding the right agent or agency. The cruise agency or cruise agent should be knowledgeable and reliable. If dealing with an independent agent, it is imperative that the agent be connected to an agency connected to the Internet. In this way the agency is able to instantly transmit the latest information on advertised and unadvertised specials to their agents so that the consumers can benefit. As an independent franchised agent who is affiliated with an agency with over 25 years experience, Judy (Mililani) Jones has the credentials in cruise travel experience and a proven track record of customer satisfaction. As an agent of Cruise.com, she has the benefit of being tied to Omega World Travel, a company with more than quarter century of stability and expertise in the travel industry. It has unparalleled clout and reputation in which to place ones trust. Millions of satisfied clients have traveled under this umbrella over the years assuring them of the best cruise value. The volume purchasing power and size alone provide the best cruise fare quotes in the industry. As an agent affiliated with this group, Mililani can offer you extraordinary savings - and enable you to cruise more often! She will go that "extra mile" to find the right promotion offering for you -- the vacation you want at the price you want to pay. Mililani offers something very unique, she has physically lived in all three major cruise ports in the world -- U.S. Virgin Islands, Florida and Hawaii! In addition, she's actually worked on a ship, inspected more than 60 vessels of which she's cruised on more than a third. She not only has the connections, clout and expertise needed to get you the best price, but the personal knowledge of the ships and areas to match your personality to the right ship and cruise. She's an agent who really cares. Mililani takes pride in her efforts to ascertain what her passengers' preferences are and finding the best vacation for their needs. But the biggest selling point for selecting Mililani is that she works without the serious overhead of a large store front. In this way, she can pass on significant discounts to the customers...including extra discounts and perks to her loyal clients. But Mililani wants you to call around first. Check out the deals that are available...and CALL HER LAST. Once you see for yourself that she can beat most deals, you will call Mililani FIRST. She is confident you will become her loyal customer too! She loves what she does and never tires of answering your questions or trying to fill your cruise needs. You will NOT be rushed; nor, will your vacation be put on the back burner. A short cruise is every bit as important as the cruise around the world! Mililani is there for you when other agents have long since turned out the light and gone off duty! ALL THIS OF THIS IS OVER-AND-ABOVE THE FACT THAT MILILANI WILL PROVIDE THE BEST AGENCY PRICE ON THE MARKET! If you are amongst the people who have never cruised the gentle seas in the lap of luxury, here are some pointers of what to look for. In searching for cruise discounts that are currently available, a wise shopper will ask their agent about the availability of these cruises ... and Mililani wants you to ask about them too when you're shopping around. 1. "Twofers" (2-for-l's): These special offers allow the second passenger to cruise free. This is one of the best cruise discounts currently available to consumers. "Twofers" are offered on a consistent -- but selective -- basis by many cruise lines including: Princess, Celebrity, Royal Olympic, Costa, Premier and Holland America. Carnival, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Royal Caribbean do not typically advertise "Twofers", but their promotional pricing can be equivalent to a "Twofers" discount. Generally, "Twofers" are for the cruise only, but on rare occasions they include air from select cities. Princess offers more "Twofers" than any other line but they are usually regional offers so the cruise agency must be informed enough to know where the deals are. These offers are capacity controlled and may be withdrawn without notice. They are often offered on a "last minute" basis, 30-60 days prior to a sailing. However, for longer or more exotic sailings, 2-for-l's are sometimes available up to a year in advance. 2. "Twofers PLUS": These are even better than 2-for-l offers. "Twofers PLUS" offer 2-For-1 plus an additional $500 off per person. This is a promotion that is often used by Holland America and Princess. 3. Flat rate specials. Flat rate specials usually give one a fixed price for the best available cabin at the time of booking. There is usually one flat rate for inside cabins and one for outside cabins. The offers are usually for the cruise only, but airfare may be purchased for an additional price. Princess and Norwegian Cruise Line commonly use these specials. 4. "50% - 80% off the second passenger" - is a slightly deceptive way of saying "25%-35% per person discount" for a specific sailing. Regardless, this is a savings offer. There is usually an expiration date to these offers. Holland America, Cunard, Costa, and Orient Lines commonly use these specials. 5. EXTRAS (or Items which provide added value to your cruise): This may include offers like: "Book a 14-day cruise and get 7 days free." Other offers may include free shore excursions or a free pre or post-cruise hotel room. One cruise line is offered a free 35mm camera, a $700 value, if passengers sailed on a specific sailing date. Holland America, Norwegian Cruise Line, Costa and Orient Lines commonly use these specials. 6. Reduced rates or Free air add-ons: Many cruise lines in conjunction with their cruise only rates offer Air add-on rates. Sometimes, special promotions are offered where the air is reduced. For example, an air rate of $299 from Chicago to Miami may be reduced to $149 or $99 per person. In some cases, a promotion may be featured in which the quoted air add-on rate is waived and offered free. Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Norwegian Cruise Line and Holland America commonly use these specials. 7. Free days: Similar to the "EXTRAS" (added value) category mentioned above. Holland America and Renaissance commonly use these specials. 8. Senior citizen specials: Reduced rates for Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Costa and Norwegian Cruise Line commonly use seniors on select sailings. One passenger in the cabin must be at least 55 years old to receive the discounts. 9. Repositioning cruises a change of itinerary is common with many cruise lines, particularly with ships that reposition from the Caribbean to Europe or Alaska and back again each season. Some repositioning cruises are deeply discounted with "Twofer" (2-for-1) savings. 10. Free upgrades: These are popular with Norwegian Cruise Line, Carnival, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. Most of these upgrades are unadvertised and may be withdrawn without notice. 11. Early booking discounts. Most lines now have some equivalent to Royal Caribbean's "Breakthrough Rates" which are capacity-controlled and can be withdrawn without notice. The lines that use these specials include Carnival (SuperSavers) Holland America (CS Rates), Princess (Love Boat Savers), Norwegian Cruise Line (Leadership Fares), Costa (Andiamo Rates) and Premier (SeaFares), to name a few. Early Booking Cut Off Dates - Popular with Crystal, Silversea, Seabourn, Princess and Holland America. 12. Discounts for combination or back-to-back cruises: Cunard, Holland America, Seabourn, Orient Lines and Silversea commonly use these specials. Book one week and get the second week for a reduced rate. 13. Kids sail free or 3rd/4th passengers cruise for reduced rate: Some promotions are specifically for kids. American Hawaii has offered a "kids cruise when two accompanying adults pay full fare. Reduced rate 3rd/4th passengers is popular with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Premier, Costa, and Norwegian Cruise Line. 14. Discount for full payment in advance: These are popular with the very upscale/high-end, Silversea and Seabourn. For example, consumers who pay in full for their Silversea cruise six months in advance of sailing can receive 15% discount. 15. Group discounts. A) Companies like Omega World Travel, which has reserved group space on a large number of sailings to destinations around the world. By linking onto these sailings, individual cruise passengers can take advantage of rates that are normally afforded only to those traveling in a group. B) Affinity groups that travel together such as family reunions, religious groups, clubs/associations, corporate/incentive meetings, etc. Receive group discounts as well as he free berths, depending on the number of passengers. This is an area that Mililani specializes by finding groups with like interests - and then combining them with other groups. The additional leverage with the cruise lines gives all parties additional discounts and perks. 16. Stand-By-Rates: Holland America, Princess, Crystal and Cunard have used Stand-By rates. They usually require payment in full with confirmation three weeks prior to sailing. If the stand-by does not clear, a full refund is given. The high demand for cruising has made this type of promotion less common. 17. Reduced single rates: Single cruise passengers traveling alone typically pay 125-200% of the double occupancy rate. Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Norwegian Cruise Line and Cunard have a limited number of single occupancy cabins at reduced rate. Some lines offer "Single Share" programs where you are matched with a cabin-mate of the same gender. You pay the lower double occupancy rate even if they fail to find you a roommate. Carnival, Celebrity, Cunard, Holland America, NCL, Princess and Royal Caribbean offer "Single Shares" on a limited basis. Infrequently, some lines offer special discounts just for singles. 18. Instant payment discounts. Great discounts for passengers willing to pay in full at the time of booking or within 48 hours. These are popular with Norwegian Cruise Line and Premier. 19. First Time Cruiser Discount: Seabourn has offered discounts up to $500 per person to passengers booking the line for the first time. 20. Alumni discounts: Past passenger discounts and promotions are becoming more and more popular. Most lines have some program in place which offers extra discounts to their past passengers. These are especially popular with Princess, Holland America, Crystal, Seabourn and Silversea. 21. Credit card promotions: Some credit card companies offer additional savings, shipboard credits or frequent flyer miles when you pay for your cruise in full with that credit card. Remember, when you see a great price on a cruise somewhere else, call Mililani for her quote, before you book! (For an accurate comparison, please be sure you have the quote, agency, date, ship and category, as well as what it includes: i.e., air from what city, port charge/tax.) In almost every instance, you'll be amazed at the additional savings Mililani can offer you! |
